NIKARO was set up in 1996 to fill a requirement to supply a national keyholding service to companies throughout the United Kingdom.

We provide nationwide cover using an independently audited network of nearly 200 independent security companies. Of these, 70% have been inspected by the NSI and 50% hold BS EN ISO 9001 UKAS certificates.

This high number of network members also means that there are nearly 200 control rooms in the network, and more than 650 response vehicles nationwide during operating hours. In the last 12 months the NIKARO network experienced 4500+ alarm activations, which can be broken down into the following categories:

7% Alarm faults
3% Intruders or acts of vandalism
4% Client requests to attend

We are very proud of our network's response time performance, which at a national average of 29 minutes is the best in the industry.

Service Providers & Performance

We are encouraged that only 5% of response times were outside ACPO '20 min' recommendation, and only 4% of Alarm Activation Reports were submitted late.

Members of the Network

We are always seeking to improve the quality of our service and as new business develops there are opportunities to increase the network.

Over 40 new companies have been added to the network in the last nine months and five companies were removed. This brings the number of our Service Providers to nearly 200 members nationwide.
